I spend a lot of time and energy trying to convince people there's a better life outside of corporate. A much better life. And most of the time it feels like leading a horse to water.
I've tried the logical approach. The data. The frameworks. The success stories. I've shown you the path, mapped out the steps, and handed you the playbook.
I even tried the Nike angle for a while. Just Do It.
Limited success.
So this is my last ditch effort. I'm done convincing. I'm going full Risky Business.
Sometimes you just gotta say WTF and make your move.
Here's what that actually means because it's not about burning everything down or going all in with no plan. It's not reckless. Tom Cruise didn't blow up his parents' house. He just stopped letting fear make his decisions for him.
That's it. That's the whole thing.
If corporate quit on you and if you're reading this it probably has, or it's getting close — what do you actually have to lose?
Your security? They already took that. Your stability? That was always an illusion. Your identity? That one's worth losing.
The version of you that needs corporate's permission to build something, that version needs to go.
You have 20 years of skills. A network of people who respect your work. Real experience solving real problems. The only thing standing between you and a completely different life is the decision to stop waiting for corporate to tell you what you're worth.
WTF are you waiting for?
I'm not asking you to quit tomorrow. I'm not asking you to blow up your finances. I'm asking you to seriously, for maybe the first time, consider that the solo path isn't the risky move.
Staying in a system that has already quit on you is the risky move.
